A Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) is a systematic process for managing workplace safety and health. The system features:

  • Setting goals.
  • Planning.
  • Measuring performance.
  • Managing commitments and direction.

Workplaces must also audit (contract sum of $30 million or more) or review (contract sum of less than $30 million) their WSHMS regularly to ensure continual improvements.

The Construction Safety Audit Scoring System (ConSASS) is an audit assessment tool comprising of an audit checklist and score card developed for Construction companies to provide an independent assessment of the Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) at a worksite, and to evaluate the effectiveness and development status of the worksite’s safety and health management system. With effect from 1st Aug 2011, all construction sites with contracts sum of $30 million or more are required to conduct ConSASS audit.
